Poem Recitation on the topic ‘Romantic Poets and their Legacy’

The English Literary Society organized Poem Recitation on the topic ‘Romantic Poets and their Legacy’. The event aimed to immerse students in the profound world of Romantic poetry, showcasing the timeless works of renowned poets such as William Wordsworth, John Keats, Percy Bysshe Shelley, and Lord Byron. The session served as a bridge between the students and the rich legacy of the Romantic era, bringing alive its themes of nature, emotion, and individualism. Participants from various departments recited selected poems, each bringing a unique perspective and emotional depth to the recitations. The recitations included Wordsworth’s “I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud,” Keats’ “Ode to a Nightingale,” and Shelley’s “Ode to the West Wind,” among others. Students exhibited their emotive expressions, insightful interpretations and brought the Romantic legacy to life. This recitation event not only enriched students’ appreciation of literature but also fostered a sense of unity as they explored the legacy of Romantic poets together. Sudha of B.A. B.Ed. Semester I got first prize and Anshita of BA Semester III bagged second prize.
