ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar on Artificial Intelligence and The English Language Learning Landscape in Punjab
An ICSSR Sponsored National Seminar on "Artificial Intelligence & The English Language Learning Landscape in Punjab" was held on March 22, 2025. The seminar provided an insightful platform for academicians, researchers, and scholars to explore the impact of artificial intelligence on English language learning and teaching methodologies.
The event commenced with a formal welcome of the dignitaries, setting an auspicious tone for the seminar. The Inaugural Session began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Pooja Prashar, Principal of the college, who emphasized the growing influence of AI in education. The Inaugural Address was delivered by Mrs. Aabroo Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of English, setting the stage for thought-provoking discussions. The Keynote Address by Prof. (Dr.) Khem Raj Sharma, Professor, Department of English, Central University of Himachal Pradesh, provided deep insights into how AI is revolutionizing language learning and pedagogical approaches.
In Technical Session I, chaired by Dr. Ashwani Rana, Professor, Department of English, GNA University, Phagwara, distinguished speakers Prof. (Dr.) Susmita Talukdar, Professor of English, Padmakanya Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University, and Dr. Ujjal Jeet, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, shared their research on the integration of AI in language instruction and its implications for learners.
Technical Session II, chaired by Dr. Ujjal Jeet, featured engaging discussions by Dr. Ashwani Rana and Dr. Charanjit Singh, Assistant Professor, Department of English, Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar, who spoke about AI-driven tools for language enhancement and their role in shaping future curricula.
The Valedictory Session featured a compelling speech by Dr. Sakshi Dua, Associate Professor, School of Computer Applications, Lovely Professional University, who underscored the need for educators to adapt to AI-powered innovations in language teaching. Sh. Vinod Dada Ji, Senior Vice President, Managing Committee, PCM S.D. College for Women, Jalandhar, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the esteemed speakers and participants for making the seminar a grand success.
The event was skillfully anchored by Mrs. Aabroo Sharma and Mrs. Gurjit Kaur, ensuring the smooth conduct of sessions.
