November 1, 2019 - Guest Lecture on ‘Women Empowerment’

A
guest lecture on ‘Women Empowerment’ was delivered to the Members of the English Literary Society by Mrs. Praveen Abrol, a social activist on 1st November, 2019. She was warmly welcomed by Mrs. Sarbjit Aneja and Mrs. Ujla Dada Joshi. She opined that here has been an upsurge in women activism, subsequent to which, men and women are viewed as equal entities in every nook and corner. Women are given jobs commensurate with their abilities and today they are capable of making it to insurmountable accomplishments. Our Constitution provides special privileges to women thereby bridging the age-old gap between the two sects in terms of social, cultural, political and financial instability. Despite women’s movement taking its shape, new challenges associated with young girls’ crop up every day. Therefore, the process of educating and mentoring girls should be done at a tender age. It was an enlightening discussion for the young students. Ms. Abroo thanked the Chief Guest of the day.
